      Video Downloader Eye ("we", "our", or "the extension") is committed to protecting your privacy.
      This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
    

1. Information We Collect

When you sign in with Google, we collect and store the following information:

Email address — used to identify your account and display it within the extension
Subscription status — your plan expiry date and remaining days

We do not collect your name, profile photo, payment card details, or any browsing history.

2. How We Use Your Information

To authenticate you via Google Sign-In (OAuth 2.0)
To verify your active subscription before allowing downloads
To display your email and remaining days inside the extension popup

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Data Storage

Your account information (Google ID, email, subscription expiry) is stored securely in our database hosted on a private server. A short-lived authentication token (JWT) is stored locally in your browser's extension storage to keep you signed in. This token expires after 30 days.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

Google OAuth 2.0 — for sign-in. Your use of Google Sign-In is also governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
Lemon Squeezy — for payment processing. Payments are handled entirely by Lemon Squeezy (Merchant of Record). We do not receive or store your card details. See Lemon Squeezy's Privacy Policy.

5. Data Retention

Your account data is retained for as long as your account is active. Accounts that have been expired for more than 30 days are automatically deleted from our database. You may also request deletion at any time by contacting us.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request deletion of your account and associated data
Sign out of the extension at any time, which removes your local session data

7. Children's Privacy

This extension is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
